Community Champions 2022   For our inaugural Community Champion Awards, we asked you all to nominate people who you felt went the extra mile in our local communities and really made a difference, and we were not disappointed. Each and every nomination told an inspiring story.  For our shortlist this year, we have six nominees...  Simon Brodie - for his efforts organising community litter picks around Broughton and Brooklands. Kayleigh McDonald - for her efforts organising children's craft activities and tackling period poverty. Su Mumford - for her community-building work in Middleton. Angela Price - for her campaigning efforts to install defibrillators throughout the Parish. Andy Tipping - for his litter picking efforts around Middleton and Oakgrove. Dhaval Thakkar - for his efforts distributing meals and food parcels during the pandemic and beyond.  We offer our congratulations to all our nominees this year and even those who weren't - so many untold stories are hidden within the Parish and we're privileged to be able to shine a light on some of them.  We had originally hoped to announce our Community Champion and present the award at our Annual Parish Meeting but this has regrettably been cancelled this year, so we will find an alternative opportunity to announce the winner as decided by the judging panel as soon as possible.
