Armed Forces Covenant

Broughton & Milton Keynes Parish Council is proud to be a signatory to the Armed Forces Covenant. Milton Keynes City Council is also a signatory to it and has many city-wide initiatives underway.
The Armed Forces Covenant exists to level the playing field, so that members of the Armed Forces and their families are not disadvantaged through their military service. The aims of the Covenant at a local level are to:

• ensure that members of the Armed Forces community receive the support they need in their local communities in recognition of their dedication and sacrifice
• nurture public understanding and awareness of the issues affecting the Armed Forces community
• encourage activities to help integrate the Armed Forces community into local life

It also represents a promise to support the employment of veterans and service leavers and offer flexibility in leave for service spouses and partner before, during and after deployment.
We’re keen to discuss projects and grant requests that support the Armed Forces Covenant. Please contact us here.
