Volunteers
Volunteers play a really important role in helping to support our local community and keep our parish a welcoming, friendly and active place to live.
At Broughton and Milton Keynes Parish Council, we are lucky to have residents who give their time, skills and enthusiasm to support a variety of community activities and projects. Whether you have a couple of hours to spare now and then, or would like to get involved more regularly, we would love to hear from you.
Volunteering is a great way to meet new people, learn new skills, support local residents and make a positive difference in the place you live.
Volunteering opportunities
There are a number of ways volunteers can get involved across the parish. Opportunities may include:
Helping at community events and activities
Supporting community food projects, such as the Community Larder
Joining local litter picks
Supporting our community allotment and raised beds
Helping with nature, gardening or environmental projects
Assisting with seasonal activities and family events
Supporting local groups, projects and initiatives
Sharing your skills, knowledge or experience with the community
Some roles may be regular, while others may only be needed for one-off events or specific projects. You do not need to have previous experience to volunteer — just a willingness to get involved and help.
Who can volunteer?
At present, volunteering opportunities with Broughton and Milton Keynes Parish Council are open to adults aged 18 and over.
We welcome volunteers from across the parish and surrounding area who would like to give their time, skills and enthusiasm to support local community activities, projects and events.
For some activities, volunteers may need to complete a short induction, follow health and safety guidance, or provide additional information before getting started. Where appropriate, we may also need to carry out safeguarding checks, particularly if a role involves working with children, young people or vulnerable adults.
